2006 will be remembered as a watershed year in the rediscovery of Robert Broderson (1920-1992). This singular artist was the recipient of two important retrospective exhibitions last year, one produced by the City of Raleigh Arts Commission and the other at the Greenville Museum of Art in Greenville, North Carolina. All those who participated were in agreement that the artist's haunting, expressive talent is as relevant today as ever and needs to be cherished as one of the most individual visions ever to emerge from the state of North Carolina. This show presents many works never before seen from the Estate of Robert Broderson and other fine collections.
