Enjoy an afternoon of Shakespeare-themed opera, musical, and song by baritone Robert Brandt, accompanied by pianist Julie Nishimura. Brandt is a UD voice faculty member and teaches applied voice and diction. He will be joined by tenor Dr. Blake Smith, Assistant Professor of Voice and Opera at the University of Delaware and co-director, with Brandt, of the UD Opera Theatre. Brandt and Smith will sing a selection of arias and duets from Shakespeare-inspired operas by Gounod and Verdi. Brandt will sing the song cycle 'Let us Garlands Bring' by Gerald Finzi and selections from Cole Porter's musical'"Kiss Me Kate.' The concert program will also include UD students who will perform a selection of scenes from the upcoming production of Otto Nicolai's 'The Merry Wives of Windsor.'
