Detailed Description:
Popular speaker, pastor and author Rob Bell will offer a talk at Fuller’s Pasadena campus Tuesday, August 8, at 7:30 p.m. in Travis Auditorium. Called “A Conversation with Rob Bell,” the evening, hosted by Fuller’s Doctor of Ministry program, will include a time for questions and answers. The event is free and open to the public.
Rob Bell is a highly sought-after speaker with an innovative teaching style, clear-cut message, and a tone that appeals to the newest generation of Christians and audiences across the spectrum. He is founding pastor of Mars Hill Bible Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan, one of the fastest-growing churches in American history. The church, which began meeting in a high school gym in 1999, now draws more than 10,000 to three "gatherings" on Sundays.
A Fuller alumnus, Bell released his first book last year entitled "Velvet Elvis: Repainting the Christian Faith"—directed to those who are, in Bell’s words, “fascinated with Jesus, but can't do the standard Christian package." Bell has also cofounded a company that produces short films, called “Noomas,” addressing life issues for today’s generation.
