Ralph L. Knowles, professor emeritus at University of Southern California School of Architecture, will discuss how the concepts behind sustainable architecture have been around for centuries and how we can reconnect the built environment to the natural world by drawing on nature’s resources without depleting them. After the lecture, he will sign copies of his new book Ritual House: Drawing on Nature’s Rhythms for Architecture and Urban Design (Island Press). This lecture is held in conjunction with the exhibition The Green House: New Directions in Sustainable Architecture and Design, which will be open for viewing. •1.5 HSW CEU (AIA) / 1.5 CPE (ASLA) / 1.5 CPD (AICP)
