Orchestras Mississauga brings a delectably spicy conclusion to the 2007-2008 Season with Ritmos Latinos on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 8 PM at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga. Under the direction of Maestro John Barnum, this Mississauga Symphony concert features Stars of the Symphony: Special Guest Conductor Paul Weston, flutist Carol Savage, oboist Karen Rotenberg, clarinetist Kaye Royer, and bassoonist Ondrej Golias.
Enjoy an evening of the sultry rhythms and sounds of Argentina, Mexico, Cuba and Venezuela, including Arturo Márquez’s Danzonés No. 2, Heitor Villa Lobos’ Bachianias’ Brazileiras No. 5 (Aria Cantalena), Silvestre Revueltas’ Sensemeyá, and Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story Symphonic Dances.
