Formerly of the rock band Triumph, Rik Emmet has plenty of gold and platinum hanging on the wall after surviving three decades in the music biz. These awards include Best Guitarist at a Juno show back in ‘81, induction into the Canadian Rock Hall of Fame in ‘93, Guitarist of the Year at the Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards in 2005 and, along with his former partners in Triumph, will be inducted into the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame in March of 2007. These recognitions highlight a career that keeps evolving and maturing. At its heart is a true singer/songwriter and an accomplished, multi-dimensional artist with nothing left to prove except his continuing commitment to great music.
