Riffing on the Real: Afro-Futurism in the Arts August 13, 2011

This will be an exhibition feauring works that embody 'Afro-futurism,' a term that refers to the exploration of ideas and themes available in traditional black cultures. There will be a variety of art and artifacts on display including traditional African masks, contemporary studio art, African American and Afro-Caribbean visionary art and examples of conceptual/futuristic design.
