You already know how to manipulate data in spreadsheets and how to build web pages and graphs. But doing everything by hand can get tedious and error-prone. The Ruby programming language can save you time by manipulating data and building web pages and graphs for you.
In this workshop, we'll give you a table of data about last year's well-known pro bicycle race in Colorado and some Ruby source code to create web pages and graphs from that data. We'll also give you a series of exercises that ask you to change the source code to do something slightly differently. We'll go through and solve the puzzles together.
You don't have to know the details of Ruby to solve the puzzles, but if you do want to learn more, consider enrolling in DaVinci Coders's Ruby on Rails course.
Please Note: Notebook computer required. Mac, Windows, and Linux are okay. No prior programming experience required.
