As part of the Playwrights' Studio Classes Guest Lecture Series, Chicago Dramatists welcomes former Resident Playwright and noted stage and screenwriter, Rick Cleveland. Following in the same tradition of his political satire monologues, 'My Buddy Bill' and 'My Pal George,' Cleveland returns with a third monologue entitled 'Ricky and Dick.' Filled with his trademark blend of history and hilarity, the monologue sets out to portray his fictitious epistolary childhood relationship with the 37th President of the United States of America, Richard M. Nixon. Though an acclaimed stage monologist, Rick Cleveland is most renown for his work in television. Programs he's worked on include HBO's 'Six Feet Under,' 'The West Wing,' 'Mad Men' and the Showtime series, 'Nurse Jackie.' His play, 'Jerry and Tom,' was adapted as a screenplay and ran as an official selection of both the Sundance and Toronto Film Festivals.
