The Richmond Symphony will hold its 6th annual Come & Play event on Sunday, November 18, 2012, led by Associate Conductor Erin R. Freeman. Come & Play is an annual event that invites musicians of all ages and abilities to rehearse and perform alongside the professional musicians of the Richmond Symphony. Participants and symphony musicians will rehearse from 2:30-5:00 p.m. and will perform together in a free and public concert beginning at 6:00 p.m.
This community engagement concert has grown substantially from year to year, attracting vast numbers of musicians from the greater Richmond area as well as musicians from as far away as Maryland and North Carolina. Last year, the event attracted 603 musicians of all ages and abilities (up from 533 in 2010). In past events, participants’ musical experience ranged from two weeks to eighty years. Registration for this year’s event closed on Friday, October 26, 2012.
