Who is Stephanie Nakasian?

Stephanie Nakasian is an engaging and versatile Jazz vocalist who first came to international attention in the mid-80s when she sang and toured with the vocal Jazz master Jon Hendricks. Stephanie's CD, Thrush Hour was named one of the top CDs of 2008. In 2009 she recorded 5 more CDs, one, is a tribute to the legendary Billie Holiday. Hod O’Brien has been recording since the '50's (with Art Farmer, Donald Byrd, and Oscar Pettiford, among others) in a pure bebop style that's had reviewers like Nat Hentoff and Ira Gitler singing his praises. Hod toured Japan with pianists Kenny Barron, Cyrus Chestnut, Cedar Walton and others as part of the prestigious 100 Golden Fingers tour, and was featured last year on Marian McPartland's NPR show Piano Jazz. Hod and Stephanie will be joined by their daughter, vocalist Veronica Swift, who has already recorded 2 CDs, and is well on her way to making a name for herself as a stylist of Jazz vocals.
