The Richmond Illustrators Club 5th Juried Show is a curated selection of the best in contemporary illustration by artists from Richmond, as well as across the country and internationally.
This year, accepted artists include Leslie Herman, Chris Visions, Barry Bruner, Bizhan Khodabandeh, Richie Pope, Josh George and Doug Chayka, amongst others. A complete list of accepted artists can be found on the website.
The show is locally organized, and juried by a well respected and diverse group of artists. This years' jurors are Sterling Hundley (award winning illustrator, painter, and professor at VCU); Noah Scalin (owner and creative director at ALR design and author of numerous books including SKULLS, and Unstuck: 52 Ways to Get (and Keep) Your Creativity Flowing); Alice Cho (art director at Wired magazine); George Pratt (award winning graphic novelist, painter and professor at Ringling College of Art and Design); and Martin Gee (art director for ‘g,’ the daily arts, entertainment and lifestyle section at the Boston Globe).
The show opens Fri., June 1, 2012 (June First Friday) at 7pm, with a preview opening Thurs. May 31 at 7pm.
