Richland College presents Kids Camp 2009, June 8-Aug. 7, filled with fun courses and activities for children ages 12-17.
Participants will have a blast in a safe environment while developing skills and knowledge to enhance their academic abilities for the next school year.
The following camps/courses will be offered:
Tennis Fitness Camp
Students will learn beginning, intermediate and advanced techniques and rules of tennis including front hand and backhand strokes, learning to serve, volley, and keep score.
Summer Learning
Learn Spanish
Students will learn vocabulary, phrases and sentences needed for basic communication using the Spanish language.
Writing for Music
Students will engage in the creative process of writing lyrics for music.
Computerized Math & Science
Computer-based simulations are used to allow students to explore the world of math and science.
Young Entrepreneurs
Are you the Next Millionaire?
Students will learn the concepts and processes necessary to start and operate a small business.
Music and Dance
Hip-Hop, Fitness & Freestyle
Students can have fun and get fit, too, with the energetic moves of these dance styles.
Learn to Play Guitar
Students can learn the fundamentals of playing the guitar.
Multimedia & Design Classes
Gaming
Students will be introduced to gaming basics.
Cartooning
Students will create graphics and animation while learning the fundamentals of cartooning.
Photo Novella
Students will engage in digital storytelling using unique concepts and photos.
Short Film Design
Students will create an original digital short film using Stop Motion Animation.
Computer-Aided Design
Students will learn the fundamentals of drafting using AutoCAD software.
Swimming classes also will be offered.
