The Menaka Thakkar Dance Company is please to launch a 'year of celebration' in honour of Artistic Director Menaka Thakkar's 65th birthday with a mixed program of contemporary classical Indian dance. The Triple bill includes the world premiere of Riaz, a brilliant new group choreography by one of Canada's foremost Indian solo dancers, Natasha Bakht, and two of Thakkar's most acclaimed works, Parashakti and Homecoming (1996). Join together in celebration of Thakkar, whom the Globe and Mail called "the doyenne of classical Indian dance."
