Revolution 69 November 20, 2009

When Pierre Trudeau said, “There’s no place for the state in the bedrooms of the nation”, it started a revolution. November 19th, 1969 birth control was legalized, abortion was liberalized, and homosexuality was decriminalized. This was a monumental step forward for women’s reproductive rights and gay rights in Canada. In response, local activists united to provide education and promote access to reproductive health services. The Calgary Sexual Health Centre carries on that tradition today …and we think that deserves a PARTY!
