The good reverend takes the rockabilly sound and kick starts it with an infusion of punk attitude. Indiana's Murder by Death layers the vocal sounds of an old saloon with the haunting strings of an Hungarian folk dance and the hard driving rhythms of pure rock n' roll, producing what Stuff magazine has called "lush, orchestrated songs," somehow simultaneously reminiscent of Johnny Cash and Radiohead. The Tossers play their own brand of Irish music loaded with attitude and alcohol. The music is best described as Celtic-punk, traditional in nature but steeped in politics and punk rock.
