Theater Company of Lafayette Re-enters The Zone with
“Return to The Twilight Zone (Volume 8), A Parody”
“Rod Serling’s hypnotic show is as relevant as ever.” – Maureen Dowd, The New York Times.
Travel through another dimension at the historic Mary Miller Theater as Theater Company of Lafayette (TCL) welcomes back the venerable Rod Serling, (aka local actor Ian Gerber) and four thrilling episodes from Serling’s much beloved sci-fi series, "The Twilight Zone". In keeping true to the television experience, TCL will also stage four vintage commercials that will run in between each episode.
“This year, for our eighth TZ parody production, directors have handpicked their favorite episodes to bring to life on the stage,” says Madge Montgomery, artistic director for TCL. “Each will transport you into a completely new and different world.”
Episodes include “Obsolete Man”, directed by Ian Gerber; “The Last Rites of Jeff Myrtlebank”, directed by Kirsten Jorgensen; “The Changing of the Guard” directed by Dave Dahl; and “Nightmare at 20,000 Feet”, directed by Erich Toll. The commercials will be directed by Madge Montgomery and Vonalda Utterback.
TCL continues its tradition of inviting celebrity media guest stars to join the TZ fun, and donating a percentage of proceeds from those shows to charity. Both Ernie Bjorkman, former TV news anchor with KMGH and KWGN in Denver, and Kirk Montgomery, entertainment reporter with Denver’s KUSA 9NEWS team will appear on the TCL stage. Catch them while you can! Montgomery will dazzle you with his acting prowess on Sat., Nov. 5; Bjorkman will delight audiences on Sun., Nov. 6.
