On stage, six exiled Iranian women inhabit their colleagues’ tents, and, blown by wind from two directions, they whirl around between supposed freedom and persistent memories.
Helena Waldmann "Letters from Tentland" was the first production of a western Choreographer, which was produced ever in Teheran and shown then on the the international Fadjr Theater festival.
In the original version the piece was performed by six Iranian female artists, who were supposed to go also on a world-wide tour.
When however the Iranian government had known of the criticisms conveyed within the performance, it instructed the dancers to return.
& In order not to give up in relation to the totalitarian procedure, Helena Waldmann continued working with six exile Iranian female artists that live in Europe & Came out with "Return to Sender - Letters from Tentland".
