As the Green October focus of Retail Design Institute Southwest Chapter evolves, a very special event will take place Saturday, October 24, 2009 at the cutting edge retail environment of James Perse located at The Lumberyard in Malibu, CA. The Lumberyard boasts breathtaking mountain and ocean scenery surrounds the nearly $25-million upscale, open-air shopping center built from earth-friendly materials and located on Pacific Coast Highway.
The event starts at 6:30pm and continues with networking, catering, and lively discussion until 9:00. The new sustainable revolution affects all retail brands striving to meet the needs of the present without compromising future generations. We will also have an internationally renowned Doug Smith (CEO & Founder of Village Green) at the event. He will be giving a brief speech outlining ‘Smartweb’ and how it is being used (partnering with Microsoft) as a tool to lower green house emissions (applying this new technology to companies within the retail industry).Join us in honoring the innovative pioneers in this emerging era in the heart of coastal paradise.
