Canadian jazz pianist extraordinaire Renee Rosnes will appear with a line-up of celebrated jazz musicians to perform snapshots of classic recordings on the Blue Note label, which holds such an important place jazz history. The evening will feature a unique combination of players, including trumpet master Randy Brecker and Rosnes’s husband and acclaimed jazz pianist, Bill Charlap. This performance is part of the 92nd Street Y’s Jazz in July series (curated and hosted by Charlap). Rosnes’ participation in Jazz in July will follow a stint early in the month at Village Vanguard, which sees the pianist hold down the fort at the venerable Vanguard with a superb quartet, featuring Rich Perry on sax, Peter Washington on bass, and Lewis Nash on drums.
