Historian Sylvie Beaudreau considers the legacy of explorer Samual de Champlain, founder of Quebec City and Father of New France, during this the 400th anniversary year of his entrance on the lake that bears his name.

Dr. Sylvie Beaudreau is Associate Professor of History at SUNY-Plattsburgh. She is an authority in the area of the French in North America and on Franco-Canadian cultural history.
