Relive The Thriller “Jaws” At The Meadowview! As Part Of Meadowview’s 45th Anniversary, Special Midnight Screening To Be Presented On Second Friday Of Each Month August 9, 2012

Kankakee, IL – In celebration of its 45th anniversary, the Meadowview Theatre is featuring a special midnight movie from each decade during its new film series, “Midnight at the Meadowview.” Slated for August 10th, the next film will be Steven Spielberg’s 1975 thriller “Jaws.” A newly restored digital print of the film will be presented on Meadowview’s new state of the art digital sound and projection system. Admission is $5.50.
Filmed in 1975, “Jaws” is the classic thriller directed by Spielberg and based on Peter Benchley’s novel of the same name. In the film, a giant great white shark arrives on the shores of a New England beach resort and wreaks havoc with bloody attacks on swimmers until a part-time sheriff teams up with a marine biologist and an old seafarer to hunt the monster down. Well received by critics, “Jaws” became the highest grossing film in history at the time. It won several awards for its soundtrack and editing, and it is often cited as one of the greatest films of all time.
