Registration Opens for Studio Classes at Las Cruces Museum of Art February 16, 2007

Registration will open on Friday, Feb. 16 at 8 a.m. for Spring Session (April 2 May 5) Studio Classes for children and adults at the Las Cruces Museum of Art. Registration materials are available at the Museum or online at museums.las-cruces.org. For more information, call 541-2160 or 541-2137.



Childrens classes include ceramics for 4-5 year olds, as well as after-school classes in drawing/painting and ceramics for 6 8 and 9 -12 year-olds. A Spring Break Arts Experience during the week of March 19 - 23 includes sessions for 6 8 and 9 12 year-olds. This years program features projects on seeing and experiencing nature through various media, as well as creating artworks inspired by the North & South of the Border exhibition in the museums Main Gallery.



Children 4-12 years old are invited to participate in Saturday Studio for Kids each Saturday from 10 11:30 am. Class sizes are limited to 10, and registration for the Saturday Studio is on the day of the class only.



Classes for adults at all experience levels include ceramics studio (wheel-throwing), hand building clay studio, sculpture: individual projects in clay, weaving , drawing, painting with oils, and digital photography classes: digital photo foundations and practices, image restoration and correcting imperfections (Photoshop), and image manipulation (Photoshop montage).
