Spaces are still available for fall art classes at the Las Cruces Museum of Art. The second fall session begins the week of October 26 and ends the week of December 18, 2010. Class schedules and registration forms are available at the Museum and on the website www.las-cruces.org/museums
Classes for adults include ceramics, drawing, an expanded digital photography program, and several painting classes in acrylics and oils. Also, offered is a course in weaving that encourages beginners and intermediate students to experiment in this traditional craft form. Older teens are welcome to attend all adult classes.
Classes for young artists are offered, too. Our “Saturday Art Fiesta” combines art and fun for kids ages 8 to 13 in the mornings and ages 5 to 9 in the afternoon. “Pre-school Play n’ Clay” is presented to our youngest budding artists ages 4 and 5 while “After-School Art Explorers” for those ages 6 to 9 encompasses drawing, painting, collage and printing. New projects will be created by combining watercolors, pastels, tempera and inks. Our popular class in ceramics is also on the schedule! Register now to reserve your place.
Gallery hours are 9 am to 4:30 pm Tuesday through Saturday. Office hours are Tuesday through Saturday 8 am to 5 pm. The Museum of Art is closed Sunday through Monday.
