Registration for art classes at the Las Cruces Museum of Art begins on Tuesday, December 14, 2010. Class schedules and registration forms will be available at the museum and on the website www.las-cruces.org/museums on December 1, 2010. The first studio session begins the week of January 4, 2011. The second session begins the week of March 8, 2011.
Classes for adults include weaving, ceramics, drawing, painting, and an expanded digital photography program including retouching with Photoshop. Also offered is an intermediate course in clay that focuses on enhancing surfaces to produce unique pieces. Older teens are welcome to attend all adult classes.
Classes for young artists are offered. Our “Saturday Art Fiesta” combines art and fun for kids ages 5 to 12. Popular ceramics classes are also on the schedule for students 6 to 8 and those from 9 to 12. “Art in the Natural World” is a mixed-media exploration of art inspired by nature for children ages 5 to 8.
Gallery hours are 9 am to 4:30 pm Tuesday through Saturday. Office hours are Tuesday through Saturday 8 am to 5 pm. The Museum of Art is closed Sunday and Monday.
