One of the most in demand pianists and educators in the country, Reggie Thomas’ soulful, hard-swinging brand of piano immediately grabs an audience and assures them that a swinging time is set to be had by all.
After nearly twenty years as a professor at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, Thomas has accepted a position at Michigan State University, which will begin in the fall of 2011. He is also a consultant and clinician for Jazz at Lincoln Center with the Essentially Ellington Program and Band Director Academy.
Thomas has long been an authority on the music of Stevie Wonder, which these performances will attest to. He will be joined by his wife and vocalist Mardra Thomas for these special, farewell shows.
These performances are in cooperations with the Center for the Humanities Summer Institute at Washington University.
Two sets, both nights starting at 8:30 and 10:15pm.
Tickets $20, $10 students with ID.
