Community Media Workshop Presents:
Reframing Stories of the Great Recession - FREE EVENT
Despite challenged budgets and the shifting media landscape, nonprofits should be at the center of the Great Recession news frame.
In these dire financial times, you need to do more than throw your hands up in dismay. You need a media strategy that goes beyond recounting the human impact of your agency's financial dilemma. You need to reach your community, your clients, and key officials using a strategic social media effort.
This brown bag will include a media panel and a policy panel. Experts will share their advice and experiences in a discussion bound to spur some new thinking, as well as encouragement. Finding common ground is the first step to address the challenges facing nonprofits today.
Nonprofit Panel: Ralph Martire (Center for Tax and Budget Accountability), Amisha Patel (Grassroots Collaborative) more panelists TBA. Moderated by Thom Clark (Communtiy Media workshop)
Media Panel: Mark Brown (Chicago Sun-Times), Sarah Karp (Catalyst Chicago) and Chip Mitchell (WBEZ), Moderated by Laura Washington (Woods Fund)
