the boom has gone down hill since around 2001.
attendence has been dropping also. contry music
is pretty much not allowed..wnci for the most part
runs it.never let disc jockies run live music, there just wana-bee musicians.......
no no no, i agree with 'subvet1969'. red, white, and boom has always been a great tradition, it hasn't got worse, it's gotten better. 'waymore' does not know what they're talking about. yeah, WNCI might as well run the whole thing. but theres nothing wrong with that. you dont see people in columbus walkin around like a bunch of hicks? they're NOT disc jockies and they are NOT wannabe musicians. no one ever said you have listen to them anyways, you go for the fireworks, not the music. its freaken independence day, that's the heart of ohio. if you want country music, why don't u visit knockemstiff OR waverly.. bcuz u dont see hillbillys around this place. sorry if i offended you, but im just speakin the truth.:)
Columbus Fireworks are the best, but I am a little biased since these are the only ones I've seen. I went yesterday to the boom and they did a really good job. I think the quality of the show is going up from the past years. Also, they old and new which is always fun to listen to with the fireworks. I always try and figure out which songs I know. But anyway, WNCI does a really job with the music and stuff. they do little games and like tricks and everything so its very funny.
Thanks for agreeing w/ me csmith_jmiller.....The fireworks in Columbus are awesome, and after watching them, I really don't have the patience to watch the small town displays anymore...if you know what I mean. They shoot off one firework every 5 minutes....not really, but it sure seems like it.The small town finale equals what Columbus is setting off during the entire show...then the finale is just unbelievable... Red White & Boom rules!

I attended this in 2007 with my wife and 3 kids and I have to say, this is one of the best fireworks displays I've ever seen. Except for swimming through the large crowd, you won't regret attending Columbus' fireworks show. There are also street vendors, live music w/ 4 or 5 stages, a big parade, & activities for the kids. Get there a little early to find a good spot to view the fireworks or plan on staying the entire day walking around and enjoying the days' activities, and most importantly, the FOOD!
July 3rd all day.......fireworks begin at 10:00pm sharp. Fireworks are timed/choreographed with the music from the local radio station....Enjoy the show!
