Tono: a music concert
An evening of ancient music from the steppes of Mongolia
Featuring a trio of traditional Mongolian musicians in full costume
- Tuvshinjargal Damindinjav, Bat-Orshikh Bazarvaani, Batmend Baasankhuu -
along with Toronto's Rick Sacks.

Stirring long song and throat singing from the ancient Mongolian steppes and the haunting lilt of the morin khuur (horse-head fiddle) will mesmerize audiences.

Tono is heavily grounded in the theme of horse culture, spanning plains tradition in Asia and North America, interweaving shamanism on both continents.

This concert is an opportunity to see and hear the music from the Red Sky's acclaimed dance and music creation Tono before it heads out on a Western Canadian tour that includes the honour of being a featured performance at the Cultural Olympiad of the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.
