Red Flag Wednesdays July 8, 2008

Brooklyn, New York July 7t, 2008 -- The Atlantic Avenue Local Development Corporation’s (AALDC) first annual Red Flag Wednesdays will kickoff the week of July 9 and run every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to Midnight through the week of August 27 on Atlantic Avenue between Hicks and 4th Avenue.
During Red Flag Wednesdays, visitors will find red flags outside participating storefronts indicating that merchants will be offering a variety of promotions, events and discounts available on Atlantic Avenue throughout the entire summer. This series will highlight the many shops that can be found on Atlantic Avenue, in addition to highlighting Brooklyn’s historic neighborhoods -- Brooklyn Heights, Boerum Hill, Cobble Hill, and Carroll Gardens.

A few of the activities and promotions visitors can look forward to on Wednesdays on Atlantic Avenue include a special Atlantic Avenue scavenger hunt for children produced by New York City Explorers; Magic and Music Summer Camp at Gumbo; “Guess the Wine” at Heights Chateau; Ladies’ Night ($1.00 off all wines all day and all night and complimentary cheeses at 5 p.m.) at Brazenhead; and 15 percent off of all red items at Artez’n and Blue Ribbon General Store.
