Annual Record Store Day celebrates Independent Record Stores, Professional Dealers and Collectors that hung in there over the years.

These days many people say vinyl is back.
The fact is... for many of us it never went anywhere.

Mainstream America departed vinyl for CDs... is what occured, however there is a whole new generation of vinylheads. Many college aged folks have discovered vinyl records and have the same passion for quality sound as the original "vinyl generation".

I've had requests for artists like Patsy Cline, Hank Sr, Ray Charles, John Prine, Richie Havens, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin or the Beatles.

You can't download good taste. The new generation vinylhead reminds me of old school music taste. Gotta love that.

None of the "resellers" in the Lafayette area participate in record store day. I don't even think they know what it is. Our local competition doesn't grade records and they use a price guide to appraise. That ain't us!
