Aboriginal art in Australia continues to flourish and new painters continue to emerge. This course will examine exciting new art from the APY Lands in the desert south of Uluru along with fascinating developments in bark painting from Arnhem Land. Far from being static these art forms are entering a new era with distant communities and art centres producing great results. The participants in this course can expect to be made aware of the many aspects of contemporary Aboriginal art in Australia. All are sessions fully illustrated. Included is a visit to the AGNSW collection (cost of admission not included). Details of this event may be subject to change.
