Rebecca Arnold: the American Look December 9, 2008

Join Rebecca Arnold, research fellow at the Royal College of Art in London, as she discusses her new book 'The American Look.'' Drawing on an array of sources, from fashion magazines to department store records and surviving garments, Arnold presents a multi-faceted exploration of the development of a distinct New York fashion style in the 1930s and 1940s that reflected modernity and contributed to American identity in the 20th century. The lecture will be followed by a book-signing with the author.
