What is The Ready to Learn Program? It is gratifying to know that over 8,000 children in the state of Utah have been touched by the RTL program. The goals of this outreach program are to help parents, educators, and those who work with children to know the importance of early literacy practices, such as how talking to a child will lead to the child being able to talk, write, and read.Participants also learn the best way to use television as an education tool. Participants will receive FREE children books, activities and information you can use at home. Workshops that actively involve participants are held FREE of charge throughout the state. An evaluation found that Ready to Learn workshops have a lasting positive impact on the behavior of parents and children. Families read books together 35% more often.
