Alastair Fowler, FBA, Regius Professor Emeritus of Rhetoric and English at the University of Edinburgh, will be presenting a forthcoming research seminar entitled, 'Reading The Faerie Queene'.
Professor Fowler is the author of numerous books and a leading international scholar of Renaissance literature and genre. His latest book is Renaissance Realism: Narrative Images in Literature and Art (Oxford Univ. Press, 2003).
Not only is he an acknowledged authority on the works of John Milton, but he also has a long-standing interest in Edmund Spenser. He has produced a volume on Spenser in the Writers and their Work series and published a monograph on Spenser and the Numbers of Time (1964).
