Re-Tree Lexington, a project to help replant Fayette County with trees after years of losing green space through over-development and devastating ice-storms, presents its 2nd Annual benefit concert on April 23rd at the Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning ballroom in downtown Lexington, at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $10 at the door.
The concerts, held in the spring and the fall during prime tree planting periods include benefit performances by local and regional performers, displays by environmental groups, and an art show by WAG, Lexington's Women Artist Group. Trees supplied by the KY Forestry Service will be given away. Funds raised will go toward buying trees for the next event.
Performers include: The Reel World String Band, Wishing Chair, The Bristol Trio, The Kentucky Bootleggers, and Art Mize and Robert Tincher from Pale, Stout and Amber.
