City Centre Parade with representitives of all three Services, Veterans, all three Cadets Corps, local schools and youth groups followed by Vintage Military Vehicles all lead by massed bands and the colour party, stepping of at 13.00 hrs. The step off is proceeded by the "RBLS Bikers Branch". A VIP Salute will be taken at the "Town House" by the Lord Lieutenant "Cameron of Lochiel" the Provost and several Senior Serving Officers. The Parade then makes its way to the NMP for a short Drumhead Service, Veterans Badge and Medal presentation Ceremony. This part of the event finishes with a "Feu de Joie" (Fire of Joy) peformed by 7SCOTS "C" Company.
The afternoon then consists of several military demonstration, displays of military vehicles and firearms, field kitchen demos, pipe bands, military highland dancing, a fijion military choir, WW2 style choir, cadet assault course competition, scottish country dancing, inter services TUG of WAR competition.Plus several childrens side shows.
Park and Ride facilities available at the Bught Park, Admission is by Donation. If you will be in our area on holiday at this time and have still to be presented with your Veterans Badge or you have recently received it why not have it represented to by the Lord Lieutenant on the day. Give us a ring to arrange to either make an application on your behalf to present your badge or to have it represented.
All surplus profits go to various Veterans Charities. Last year we were able to donate a total of £3.000 to various charities. Admission is by donations to Veterans Charities.
