Ray Obiedo & The Urban Latin Jazz Project are bringing some of the best Bay Area musicians, laying down the funk and throwing in the Carribean groove. Contemporary jazz composer and guitarist Obiedo had an eclectic musical background during his youth, spent in the Bay Area of San Francisco. Here the sounds of Miles Davis, Henry Mancini, Antonio Carlos Jobim and the imported soul and pop of Motown Records influenced his early musical persona.

Tony’s story could be a script to a hit movie. Son of legendary musician Merl Saunders, Tony’s life has been a musical adventure that would be impossible to duplicate. As a child, he was taught piano by Herbie Hancock and for his tenth birthday received an electric organ as a gift from Sly Stone.
