Kayak Staten Island joins the City of New York Department of Parks & Recreation, Friends of Fire, and the Conference House Association at the Raritan Bay Festival.
Kayakers from New York and New Jersey are invited to paddle to the Festival, and Kayak Staten Island volunteers will watch their boats while they enjoy the festivities. New Yorkers can check the New York Water Trail map for launch sites. New Jersey kayakers can check the JSSKA Launch Sites map.
On the schedule are a craft & art fair sponsored by Friends of Fire, live music provided by local bands, the Sleeping Beauty puppet show from City Parks Foundation’s Puppet Mobile, oyster farming demonstrations by the NY/NJ Baykeepers, and fishing demonstrations by the Fishermen’s Conservation Association. The Conference House Association will provide docent-led tours of the Conference House museum from noon to 4 p.m.
