Randall W. Culp, M.D., award-winning surgeon and hand and wrist consultant for the Philadelphia Phillies, will present the lecture "Hand Surgery Challenges in 2009," at Chestnut Hill College on Wednesday, March 11, at 4 p.m. in the East Parlor, St. Joseph Hall. Chestnut Hill College is located at 9601 Germantown Avenue, Philadelphia.
Dr. Culp, associate professor of orthopedic, hand and microsurgery at Thomas Jefferson University, will discuss what a hand surgeon does, what challenges lay ahead in the field of hand surgery, and what the future holds for the specialty. He will explain different problems that can affect the hand and wrist, including arthritis, fractures, and trauma, and explain how they can be treated. Dr. Culp will also share experiences from his recent week-long trip to Honduras as a part of a medical mission, emphasizing the importance of giving back to the local and international community.
