Raising Gender Healthy Children April 6, 2013

Tomboy? Princess? Dresses? Pants? Dolls? Trucks? All of these? None of these? This "Raising Gender Health Children" workshop is free and open to the public. Dr. Ilana Sherer (pediatrician-activist), Nicole Sanchez (mother-activist), Maya Para (youth-activist), and Joy Johnson (mental health specialist) will present and facilitate a discussion on what it means and how to raise children with healthy gender identities. This workshop will address the following questions/concerns: "What is gender?" "How can I support healthy gender development in my child?" "How can I help my child cope with messages from the media and peer pressure about how a girl or a boy SHOULD act/be?"
