Rail Readers Book Club - "Chasing Vermeer" September 17, 2008

Las Cruces, NM Do you like reading a good mystery? Do you enjoy visiting museums? The Las Cruces Railroad Museum has a new book club just for you. The Rail Readers Student Edition Book Club will meet and discuss a new book on the on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, beginning September 17.

The first book we will discuss is Chasing Vermeer by Blue Balliett. Its about a famous painting, patterns, and a theft. Please register by calling Joanne at 647-4480. The first five people who register will be able to borrow a copy of the book from us.

Try to finish the book before you come, or else we might spoil the ending for you! In addition to discussing the book, you will have a chance to make a set of pentominos (math puzzles) and write your own secret code. Discussions and activities will be held from 3:00 4:00 pm in the Program Room of the Railroad Museum.

The Railroad Museum is located at 351 N. Mesilla Street at the intersection of Las Cruces Avenue.
