A video installation by Korean artist Junebum Park looking at the systems governing human behaviour.
'Puzzle' is based on sliding tile puzzles where the challenge is for the player to slide tiles/blocks along certain routes (usually on a board) to establish a certain end-configuration. In Junebum Park's video piece the sliding tiles have been replaced by a group of students sat at desks. The group are the players who need to work out how to get to the final configuration.
Born in Jeju, Korea in 1976, Junebum Park graduated from Sungkyunkwan University, Seoul in 2002 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Working in the medium of the moving image he playfully manipulates familiar everyday situations using video and collage. He has exhibited extensively in group shows both in Korea and internationally with recent shows at the Museum of Arts and Design (New York) and the Contemporary Urban Centre (Liverpool Biennial).
Showing as part of Asia Triennial Manchester.
