PUT PEOPLE FIRST!
Would you like to see a fairer world where people are more important than profit?
So would thousands of other people just like you. Now there's a chance to call on the world's leaders to do just that: to put people first.
The G20 - a group of the world's largest 20 economies - is meeting in London early in April to discuss how to deal with the global financial crisis. Progressio has joined over 80 organisations under the banner Put People First! to seize the opportunity to send a clear message to the world's leaders as they meet on our doorsteps.
Progressio is co-hosting an Ecumenical Church Service as part of the G20 Put People First Campaign. The service will be followed by the March co- organized by leading UK NGO and social movements promoting justice.
The ecumenical church service is being held at Methodist Central Hall, Westminster, prior to the march – come to the church service and then join the march as it passes Parliament Square on its way to Hyde Park.
Progressio’s executive director, Christine Allen, will be one of the speakers at the service, which is hosted by Progressio, Cafod, Tearfund, Christian Aid, World Vision and the Church of England.
Music and worship begins at 10.30am with a joint church action service from 11am.
Methodist Central Hall is at Storey’s Gate, Westminster, SW1H 9NH – opposite Westminster Abbey.
The nearest tube stations are Westminster or St James’s Park.
