Purina Incredible Dog Challenge National Finals October 1, 2010

WHAT: Athletic dogs from around the world will compete in the 2010 Purina Incredible Dog Challenge finals. The premier canine sporting event will feature a variety of “Olympic style” events including dog diving, freestyle flying disc, weave poles, Jack Russell hurdle racing and agility competitions.

The free, fast-paced canine action takes place Friday, Oct. 1 and Saturday, Oct. 2, at Purina Farms in Gray Summit, Mo.

LOCAL OPP: An open dog diving qualifier will be held for all dogs who want to dive for distance into a 19,000-gallon pool of water. Top qualifiers win the chance to compete in Saturday’s (Oct. 2) competition which will be taped for a national TV broadcast.

ADDITIONAL: The Purina Incredible Dog Challenge includes international talent this year, with competitors representing the United States, Poland, Japan and Canada.

2010 marks the 13th year of the Purina Incredible Dog Challenge, which continues to demonstrate Purina’s commitment to and passion for pets. The event has become known for attracting world-class canine athletes in a multi-city tour that culminates each year with the nationally televised championships.
