The 8th Annual Pumpkins for a Cure Festival will take place on Saturday September 29th from 9:00 am to 4:00pm at the Court House lawn in Geneva, Illinois. The event, which was idea of six year old Jim Zellmer (now a teenager) and his parents, benefits the Zellmer Childhood Disease Foundation (ZCDF).
Activities include: The Trick or Trot 10k, family entertainment, Harvest Taste food competition, face painting, story time, haunted hay rides, pony rides, professional pumpkin carving, black hat day specials, and a food demonstration by Chef Judson Allen.
Having diabetes, Jim, wanted to sell pumpkins to raise funds to find a cure. His parents Mary Agnes and Paul Zellmer founded the Zellmer Childhood Diseases Foundation.
The ZCDF is a non-profit that supports research related to the cure of childhood diseases. Pumpkins for a Cure Festival is FREE and a schedule of the day’s activities can be viewed at www.zcdf.org.
