PUFNSTUF, 1970, Universal, 98 min. Dir. Hollingsworth Morse. Children’s television icons Sid and Marty Krofft, the far-out creators of classics shows “Sigmund and the Sea Monster,” “Lidsville,” “The Bugaloos,” “Land of the Lost” and, of course, “H.R. Pufnstuf,” brought the TV hit to the big screen to the delight of kids everywhere. Magic flute in hand, Jimmy travels to a mystical island where he makes many friends, including a talking dragon named H.R. Pufnstuf, and one dangerous enemy: the evil Witchiepoo. Witchiepoo wants Jimmy's flute and is determined to steal it so she can impress her peers and win a "witch of the year award." [35mm]
