Broward Crime Stoppers and Seminole Hard Rock Hotel will present South Florida’s largest Public Safety Expo on November 5 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Seminole Paradise.
This expansive special event will feature Federal, regional and local crime-fighting agencies showcasing their state-of-the-art specialized, custom and antique crime prevention vehicles, plus a variety of safety demonstrations, educational displays, children’s activities, trained horses and informative meet-and-greet activities for all ages.
The event will kick-off at 10 a.m. with the Broward Sheriff’s Office “Coffee with the Sherriff” where the public may participate in a question and answer session with Broward County’s chief law enforcement officer, public servants and peacekeepers. Salsa sensation, Melina Almodovar will perform her hit singles during opening ceremonies and sign autographs for the community and the public safety professionals. Alex Martinez, immediate past president of the Latino Officers Association of Florida (LOA-FLA), will also be honored for his public service.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office will also be bringing out specialized vehicles including their Smart Car, Mobile Booking Unit, Mobile Command Unit, Mobile Crime Lab, a bomb and arson vehicle with a robot, a marked Challenger and a helicopter. The Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue will roll out the “You Paint Truck”, a special vehicle designed for children to paint and decorate. McGruff, the Crime Dog, Sparky, the Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue mascot and Deputy Quiggley, the official BSO mascot will be available for photos and meet and greets.
The Seminole Police Department will be on hand with Broward Crime Stoppers to provide free child fingerprinting and photos, explore the Sky Watch Helicopter, and a receive tips from interactive crime prevention displays.
