DO YOU KNOW ??
Chronic Hepatitis may not be diagnosed until after cirrhosis develops…
HEPATITIS is inflammation of the liver caused by hepatitis viruses or other agents.
Chronic hepatitis can persist for years, even decades. Continued inflammation can slowly damage the liver, eventually resulting in cirrhosis (severe scarring of the liver), liver failure and even liver cancer.
Chronic hepatitis is known as a silent killer because the symptoms of hepatitis are difficult to recognize and tend to be mild during the early stage of infection. The most common symptom is fatigue, but it may take years to become noticeable.
Chronic hepatitis is a slowly progressive disease and results in severe disease in a significant prportion of infected people.
How do you get Chronic Hepatitis? How do you prevent it? How is it treated? Dr Mahendra Raj has the answers.
