You might have heard of BarCamp. Interested in where media is heading? Then PubCamp is for you!

PubCamp is proudly brought to you by itechne as part of our SemanticMedia initiative.

The Melbourne event:
Monday 23rd June at 3pm at Rydges, 186 Exhibition St near the Theatre District. Arrive from 2.30 for tea and coffee for a sharp 3.00pm start.

* Immerse yourself in good ideas with smart people in an information-packed afternoon and evening.

* Share leading-edge insights into where the Web and online media are heading and explore case studies and examples from around the world.

* Be part of a conversation and debate with other people working in media and online.

* Find out how other people are approaching the challenges, and take part in open panel and workshop discussions.

PubCamp - The Web 2.0 Media Day is free to attend and has two parts. A formal conference and briefing seminar with traditional sessions runs from 3-6pm, and an open "unconference" designed to foster community and conversation runs from 6.30-8.30pm. Everyone is welcome to attend either or both, and there's a networking session with drinks from 6-6.30pm.

The event presentations and some podcasts will be available online afterwards if you can't make it in person.

Get involved and bring along colleagues and friends. If you have topics you'd like to see covered, ideas for presentations, or want to start a conversation, then the Unconference is your chance. It's open for everyone. To nominate sessions or find out more go to the website.

Please pass on an invitation to anyone you think might want to be involved too.

Seats are limited, so RSVP early here on upcoming.

PubCamp is on tomorrow (Monday) afternoon in Melbourne at Rydges, 186 Exhibition St. It's free and open to attend. Don't miss out on this intense, information-packed afternoon, or the energised discussions and debate that took Sydney by storm last week.

We've secured extra space. So if you haven't already RSVP'd, or if there are people you think should be there, then it's not too late for you and your colleagues to be part of a fun, interesting and controversial afternoon and evening. Just rsvp online for them or email pubcamp@itechne.com.

PubCamp is proudly brought to you by itechne as part of our SemanticMedia initiative.

Over 200 people from traditional media, social and online communities, digital media and marketing, and new online businesses took part in Sydney last week, and already nearly 200 people are attending in Melbourne. The Internet was abuzz with people in Sydney saying "I wish I'd made it." Don't be one of them in Melbourne.

Make sure to arrive from 2.30 and grab a tea or coffee, as it will be a sharp 3pm start. Drinks will be at 6pm and the unconference starts from 6.30. The schedule is really packed in with new speakers, sessions and panelists, and there's a lot of great stuff. So don't be late.

Stephen Mayne and Stephen Collins are joining the panel along with the twitterverse to spice things up even more. And don't miss the Great Debate when Richard Walsh and Bronwen Clune go head-to-head for a rematch on the topic "that the new world of media choice is a dagger to the hearts of producers and creators alike."

Full details of the presentations and speakers are available online at:

Quick note on Wi-Fi access:

Rydges has a Telstra Wi-Fi hotspot.

The presenters will have access to a wired connection, but the hotel won't let us share it (what is it with these hotel guys!)

We're going to try to get a freebie 3G shared wi-fi connection working if we can. But will probably run out of time so PLEASE do not rely on that :)

Cheers,
Jed
